Twenty-eleven World Champion and Tour de France green jersey winner Mark Cavendish is joining African cycling outfit MTN-Qhubeka.

They stunned the established teams by notching up a stage win in the 2015 Tour, and Cavendish joining will add further gloss to their international profile. He has won 26 Tour stages in all along with a groaning display cabinet of other titles, and will bring charisma and hard-nosed road racing to the South-African team.

Also joining according to management, which says from next year it will race as Team Dimension Data, are Australia’s Mark Renshaw and Bernhard Eisel, former teammates expert in guiding Cavendish to his sprints.
