It means the Netherlands chances of automatic qualification have turned cold turkey.

The Czech Republic are through and so too are Iceland who will join Europe’s elite for the first time in the island’s history despite being held to a goalless draw by bottom side Kazakhstan.

Wales must wait for France. A scoreless draw in their Euro qualifier against Israel in Group B denied Chris Coleman’s side.

The Welsh had a goal in the closing minutes of the match controversially ruled off side. They know second and third have yet to play each other.

But a late Hazard goal gave Belgium a one goal win over Cyprus and they are on the coat tails of Wales.

Two second half goals for Norway handed their bid to qualify from group H a huge boost as they beat Croatia to go second.

Italy go top after an incident packed one nil victory over Bulgaria. A Di Rossi penalty after just five minutes gave them the points. But the player was sent off ten minutes into the second half to be followed by Bulgaria’s Ilian Micanski.
