Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka advanced to his first final at Roland Garros with a four sets win over local hope Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday.

The eighth seed, bidding to clinch a second grand slam title, was made to battle hard throughout the contest and conceded the second set before finding his range in the third and the fourth, eventually winning through 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 in 3 hours, 46 minutes.
