Dutch authorities have confirmed a case of bird flu, the second in the country this week. In the latest case officials say all 43,000 chickens at a farm near the village of Ter Ar in the south of the country were being slaughtered.

Tests are being carried out to establish the exact strain of bird flu. The first case earlier this week and one in England were confirmed as H5N8 which poses only a very low health risk.
