Footballers from Japanese side Sanfrecce Hiroshima celebrated a goal with a touching tribute to victims of the 2011 tsunami.
The players, with the anniversary of the tragedy in mind, spelt out 3.11 after scoring during a AFC Champions League game at Central Coast Mariners in Australia. But the touching tribute did not help the team’s fortunes – they lost 2-1.
The earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan. More than 19,000 are believed to have been killed in the disaster.
