Nigerian dancer Benjamin Daniel, known as Ben Dancer, has completed a 168-hour dance marathon in Lagos in an attempt to set a new Guinness World Records mark for the longest individual dance marathon.

Supporters gathered at Freedom Park to cheer him on as he performed for seven days, incorporating Nigerian dance styles and music including Afrobeats, fuji, jazz and zouk.

Daniel said the attempt was intended to draw global attention to African indigenous dance and promote the continent’s culture. His performance now awaits official verification by Guinness World Records.
