Tourists in east China’s Jiangxi Province have unfurled a giant Chinese flag across a 330‑metre glass bridge in Anyuan County, ahead of the National Day holiday on 1 October.
The scene echoes celebrations in Beijing, where thousands assembled before dawn at Tian’anmen Square for the grand ceremony. Escorted by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Guard of Honour, the national flag entered the square to a trumpet fanfare as spectators sang the anthem and waved smaller banners.
Doves released to ‘Ode to the Motherland’ closed the ceremony as Golden Week travellers prepared for a week of festivities across China.
