The World Nomad Games have brought together athletes from more than 90 countries in Kyrgyzstan, where competitors are showcasing traditional skills including horse racing, mounted wrestling, archery and wrestling.
Some horse races test endurance over distances of up to 11 kilometres, while riders also compete in games involving horses and traditional combat skills.
The sixth edition of the Games began in Bishkek on August 31, with 43 traditional sports on the programme and cultural events highlighting the heritage of nomadic peoples.
