Demonstrations were held in several European cities on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day.
In Paris, participants gathered at Place de la République where dozens of women staged a “die-in”, lying on the ground to symbolise the 167 femicides recorded in France in 2025.
Some held signs representing victims. In Madrid, thousands of people marched through the city centre during rallies calling for gender equality and an end to violence against women.
Protesters also displayed placards carrying messages related to peace, human rights and international conflicts.
