Israeli strikes hit Beirut and other parts of Lebanon after Hezbollah fired rockets and drones toward Israel, with Lebanon’s Health Ministry reporting at least 31 deaths.

At least 31 people were killed in Israeli strikes on Lebanon, according to the country’s Health Ministry.

The attacks hit Beirut’s southern suburbs and other areas after Hezbollah said it fired rockets and drones toward Israel in retaliation for the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Explosions were heard across the capital overnight, with buildings damaged and residents fleeing affected neighborhoods.

The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah sites, while projectiles from Lebanon were reported to have landed in open areas in northern Israel.
