Hundreds of people protested in Denmark's capital Copenhagen on Saturday in support of Greenland, amid US President Donald Trump's insistence that the US should control the self-governing island.
Demonstrators waved Greenland flags and carried signs reading “American here: No means No,” “Unite for freedom,” “Make America smart again,” and “Hands off,” some featuring Danish and Greenland flags.
It comes as a bipartisan US congressional delegation sought to reassure Denmark and Greenland of their support following Trump's threat to punish countries with tariffs if they don’t back the US taking over the strategic Arctic island.
