President Donald Trump carried out the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon on Tuesday, sparing two birds named Waddle and Gobble during a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.
The turkeys had stayed in a luxury hotel before their appearance and even visited the press briefing room ahead of the event.
The presidential turkey pardon is a long-standing holiday tradition in Washington, where one or two birds are symbolically saved from the dinner table each year before being sent to live out their days on a farm.
