A convoy of six ships left Mersin in Turkey to evacuate Turkish citizens and deliver 300 tonnes of aid to Lebanon.

Following the Israeli strikes, a convoy of six ships, including the Turkish vessel TCG Bayraktar, left for Lebanon to evacuate Turkish and foreign citizens.

The convoy left Mersin with 300 tonnes of humanitarian aid, food, tents, beds and blankets.

Turkish officials said that further sea evacuations would be organised if necessary.

Around 2,000 Turks are currently being evacuated.
