Updated:

A devastating Russian airstrike struck Hlukhiv in the Sumy region on August 20, setting off fires at energy facilities.

Described by locals as "the most severe attack" since Russia's invasion began in February 2022, the incident in the Sumy region highlights a troubling pattern of targeting vital infrastructure.

An energy facility was hit on August 20, causing blackouts across 72 settlements and affecting over 18,500 people.

A day before, a separate Russian assault on a children’s cafe in Malokaterynivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, claimed the life of a 15-year-old and injured four others.

Recent attacks on 11 communities in Sumy Oblast resulted in four civilian injuries and 256 explosions.
