Thousands of people in Brazil gathered to "hug" the Atlantic Ocean on World Oceans Day on Thursday.
The annual international day takes place to raise global awareness of how much humans benefit from the ocean.
The day was first declared in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED).
