Teachers, medical workers and students took to the streets of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on Thursday (May 30) in protest at reports the government of President Juan Orlando Hernandez is seeking to privatise healthcare and education.

Teachers, medical workers and students took to the streets of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, on Thursday (May 30) in protest at reports the government of President Juan Orlando Hernandez is seeking to privatise healthcare and education.

Local media reported that the Tegucigalpa's international airport was closed after protesters blocked nearby roads. 

Police responded by firing tear gas.
