Competitors from across northeast China's Heilongjiang Province and Russia on Friday battled it out in a dragon boat race on ice.
The event was the first of its kind in Jiayin County in China's Heilongjiang Province.
A total of three teams from Russia and 14 representing different regions in Heilongjiang competed on the 100-metre-long ice track.
Participants sat on the dragon boats, using ice pitons as their paddles to go forward.
Spectators greeted the spectacle with a chorus of excited screams and cheers, despite the bone-chilling cold.
