An emergency vehicle attempting to escape the eruption of Fuego volcano in Guatemala on June 3 was engulfed by the fast-moving ash cloud that descended down the mountainside.

Video uploaded by a member of a Guatemalan volunteer fire service shows the cloud speeding towards the vehicle before plunging the driver and passenger into darkness.
According to authorities, the official death toll reached 69 by June 4, although this number was expected to increase.
