The 2018 Winter Swimming World Championships came to a close at the weekend in Tallinn, Estonia.

The 2018 Winter Swimming World Championships came to a close at the weekend in Tallinn, Estonia.

Nearly 1,500 swimmers from over 35 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Argentina, the United States and Mongolia, took part in the event.

The championships were spread over five days and are held biannually with the last event being held in Tyumen, Russia.

The average water temperatures was 1°C this year, but with the Baltic Sea water it was thought the temperature was just below zero degrees celsius.

The 2020 Winter Swimming World Championships will be held in Bled, Slovenia.
