Turkish engineers began a delicate operation to salvage a plane stuck on a coastal cliff on Thursday, after veering off a runway in Trabzon.

Engineers and technicians attached metal cables to the wings and tail of the aircraft to allow the two cranes to salvage it.

Once back on the tarmac, the aircraft will be emptied of fuel and then towed to a hangar where the luggage of the 162 passengers on board will finally be recovered.
