Protesters and police clash at banned Istanbul pride parade

For the third consecutive year, Turkey’s blocked the annual Gay Pride march in Istanbul.

Small groups gathered in side-streets waving rainbow flags, symbols of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender pride. Police fired rubber bullets to disperse the demonstrators and detained several people.
