Protesters called on Western powers to intervene to stop the bloodshed in what used to be Syria’s commercial capital.

They also called Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin “terrorists” – a term used by Damascus and Moscow to describe anti-government rebels.
