Big crowds gathered in New Delhi to celebrate Dussehra, the festival commemorating the defeat of the mythological demon king, Ravana, at the hands of the Hindu god, Rama.
The climax of the celebrations sees massive effigies of Ravana and others set alight in front of cheering crowds.
