From ancient cathedrals to vibrant tiles and world-famous custard tarts, Lisbon is a city layered with colour and culture. Join Lilly Douse as she embarks on an unforgettable Portuguese adventure.

In this episode of Grand Voyager, presenter Lilly Douse immerses herself in the charm and history of Lisbon. She starts in the city’s historic centre with local guide Ana Paula, exploring the city's most iconic ancient buildings and monuments before winding through the atmospheric streets of Alfama. Her journey continues at Pastéis de Belém, where she gets exclusive insight into the original Portuguese custard tarts and even attempts to make them herself.

At the National Tile Museum, Lilly dives into Portugal’s tile tradition before creating her own hand-painted piece. She then checks into the refined Lapa Palace Hotel, soaking up its old-world grandeur, before heading to Solar dos Presuntos. There, she joins one of the chefs to prepare classic Portuguese dishes and enjoys tasting them with a member of the restaurant’s founding family. Lilly concludes her time in Lisbon with a scenic boat trip along the Tagus River, taking in the city’s vibrant colours and iconic skyline, a final look at a city rich in culture, flavour and history.
