Sudden sinkhole swallows cars in Nebraska
A sinkhole formed suddenly in Omaha, Nebraska, Tuesday afternoon and swallowed two cars stopped at a red light.
Omaha Police said the two drivers were able to get out of their vehicles — and the sinkhole — by the time emergency crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

Suspect discovered inside garbage bin following police chase in Ohio
In Ohio, a sanitation worker got a shock after finding a man hiding in a trash can during his route. The suspect had fled a traffic stop earlier and was hiding from police. Dashcam video shows him jumping out and running as officers chase, losing his shoes during the pursuit.

Nick Reiner pleads not guilty to killing parents in Los Angeles court
Nick Reiner has entered a not guilty plea to two counts of first-degree murder on Monday. The 32-year-old is accused of stabbing his parents, Hollywood actor and director Rob Reiner and photographer Michelle Singer Reiner, to death in their Los Angeles home on 14 December.

US military strikes another alleged drug boat killing three people
The US military said it targeted a boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean late on Friday which its intelligence identified as a drug-trafficking vessel, killing three people on board. The US Southern Command said the boat was using known narco-trafficking maritime routes.
