A Golden day for Azerbaijan
Local hero Hidayat Heydarov was on fire all day on the way to his Gold Medal. He was joined by fellow countrymen, Saied Mollaei, who won his first Gold in 3 years and brought the Azerbaijan tally to 3 Gold medals. This drove the home-crowd wild with joy at the Heydar Aliyev stadium.

One of the most eagerly anticipated events on the judo tour is the mixed team World Championships, which took place today in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Japan overcame their close international rivals, France, to take their fifth World Title. An exciting end to a thrilling championship.
