Europe's ocean conservation effort not enough despite good intention
Only a fraction of the marine areas meant to be protected by the European Union are being properly conserved at present, according to a new report.
The research - by the World Wide Fund for Nature and Sky Ocean Rescue - says less than 2% of the EU's waters are being properly managed

Fishermen are being paid €200 a month to recycle waste from their nets. More and more plastic and cans are being pulled from the waters together with the fish. A new Greek company called Enaleia has backing from Greek and foreign donors to introduce a more sustainable way of fishing.
