Salzburg factory produces its final batch of Mozart Ball sweets
The music has stopped for Mozartkugeln, arguably Salzburg's most famous sweets. Also known as 'Mozart Balls' the dark chocolate-covered pistachio, marzipan and nougat delights will no longer be made in the Austrian city ending a production line that dates back to the 19th century.

Skating season at the natural ice rink at Lake Weissensee opens
The ice-skating season at Lake Weissensee in Carinthia began today, with a 15cm thick ice layer allowing access to the western part. Temperatures have been low, ensuring solid ice. Around 1,000 locals enjoyed the sunny weather on the 3.5 km ice ring.
