Elsewhere in Ukraine, a Russian drone strike killed civilians at a checkpoint on the border with Moldova, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said on Wednesday.
Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv overnight into Wednesday, killing at least five people and injuring 35 others, Ukrainian media said.

Residential buildings, a school and several warehouses were reportedly damaged in the strikes, signalling a definitive end to a temporary suspension of hostilities in Kyiv and Moscow during a weekend visit by US envoys.
Elsewhere in Ukraine, a Russian drone strike killed civilians at a checkpoint on the border with Moldova, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said on Wednesday.
"During the night, Russia attacked the Starokozache international road checkpoint on the border with Moldova with strike UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles)," the service wrote in a post on Telegram.
The strike killed and wounded civilians who were near the checkpoint and caused fires, it said, without specifying the number of people hurt.
The State Border Guard Service said the checkpoint was closed following the attack.
Talks in Norway
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Norway on Tuesday, the eve of the funeral of King Harald V, in a visit that will also allow talks with Oslo on air-defence support.
Zelenskyy met Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre on Tuesday evening, the premier's office said in a statement.
"We will discuss continued support for Ukraine. The main issue is strengthening air defence and assistance in other areas that are important for getting through the winter," Zelenskyy said in a post on X.
The Ukrainian leader said he and his wife would "express our gratitude to Norway at the farewell ceremony for His Majesty King Harald V", who died last month aged 89 and will be buried in Oslo later on Wednesday.
"Ukraine has a critical need for air defence systems and other forms of military support and it is preparing to face a difficult winter," Støre’s office said.
"The talks will focus in particular on how Norwegian military and civilian assistance can best meet Ukraine's current needs," it added.
No press briefing is planned for security reasons.
"Our weak point is anti-ballistic capabilities. We will grow stronger. I will have meetings in both Norway and Canada," Zelenskyy said on Sunday.
"We must develop our own Ukrainian anti-ballistic system".
Norway is one of the main providers of military and civilian aid to Kyiv following Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Earlier on Tuesday, the UK announced it was committing £100 million (€116 million) to boost Ukraine's air defence capabilities this winter, including with Patriot missiles.
The UK will also supply "air defence interceptors, large-calibre artillery rounds and drones" as part of the contribution to a NATO programme supporting Kyiv, the defence ministry said in a statement.
The Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) was established in 2022 by the US Department of Defence and NATO.
More than 20 countries have invested billions of dollars in the programme which aims to ensure a predictable flow of lethal and non-lethal support for Ukraine, with military hardware purchased mainly from the US.
