The last EU summit of 2014 has wrapped up in Brussels. A major investment plan topped the table during discussions.

euronews’ show ‘Europe Weekly’ has taken a look at some of the key subjects being discussed and a look ahead over the next three weeks.

It was the first EU summit chaired by Donald Tusk of Poland. Few decisions were expected, the 28 members mostly gave the green light to an extensive investment plan of the Commission, but the finer details must still be hashed out , which will not be an easy task.

In this weeks version of the show euronews has dissected Belgium’s proposals for EU funding and measured Donald Tusk’s popularity in the EU powerhouse of Brussels.

We’ve also heard from the portesters angry over a controversial free trade deal with the US and looked ahead at some of the key events shaping EU politics over the festive period.
