Italy’s Prato Nevoso ski resort recorded exceptionally heavy snowfall, creating challenging conditions for road access.

Prato Nevoso, a ski resort in Italy’s Cuneo province, has recorded record snowfall in recent days, with around 1.5 metres falling in just 24 hours, according to Italian media.

Reports say total snowfall at the resort has now reached about three metres, the highest in Europe this season.

Snow clearance operations were ongoing around the clock as heavy snow continued, while skiers enjoyed unusually good conditions ahead of the holiday period.
