Police have detained three teenagers in the UK on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in the coastal village of Leysdown-on-Sea in Kent, according to a statement by Kent Police.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were dispatched shortly after 7 pm on Sunday following reports of a confrontation in which a man was assaulted.

Kent Police confirmed the victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A 16-year-old girl and two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been taken into custody as detectives continue their investigation.

Officers have sealed off a large open area behind the beach, close to a caravan park, while a public footpath leading to the shore has also been closed.

On Monday, a police officer was stationed at a fenced-off section of land near the beach as part of the ongoing investigation.

Kent Police are currently urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.
