The pair engaged in a spectacular spat social media last week after a feud over US President Donald Trump's flagship budget policy escalated.

Elon Musk said on Wednesday that he regrets some of his posts about US President Donald Trump during their spat on social media last week.
"I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far," the tech billionaire said on his platform X. He did not say which specific posts he was talking about.
The pair became embroiled in a war of words last week after Musk blasted Trump's "big, beautiful bill" of tax breaks and spending cuts as a “disgusting abomination".
In a series of posts on X, Musk suggested Trump's trade tariffs would lead to a recession, called for the president to be impeached, and implied he was associated with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The White House has rubbished those claims. Musk has since deleted some of the posts, including the one calling for impeachment.
Trump, for his part, said Musk had "lost his mind" and threatened to terminate the tech mogul's federal contracts, including with SpaceX and Tesla, as a cost-saving measure.
On Monday, Trump told reporters that he had no plans to discontinue Starlink — a satellite internet company owned by SpaceX — at the White House. However, he said he might move a red Tesla, which was purchased from Musk, off-site.
"We had a good relationship, and I just wish him well," Trump said.
Musk provided Trump with significant financial support to help him win re-election in 2024, donating approximately $277 million (€242 million) over the election cycle.
He was the founder and sole donor of Trump’s super Political Action Committee, which focused on mobilising voters in key battleground states.
After Trump was re-elected, Musk spearheaded the so-called Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, where he restructured several federal agencies with the aim of cutting government costs and improving efficiency.
Musk left the administration at the end of last month, citing a desire to return to his business ventures and frustration with the response to his cost-cutting efforts at DOGE.
