NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams returned to Earth after a nine-month delay due to a Boeing test flight issue, safely splashing down off the Florida coast aboard a SpaceX capsule.

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams finally returned to Earth on Tuesday after a nine-month delay caused by a failed Boeing test flight.

Their SpaceX capsule parachuted into the Gulf of Mexico near Tallahassee, Florida, hours after leaving the International Space Station.

Originally set for a brief mission, the astronauts faced repeated setbacks before NASA arranged an alternate return.

They will undergo medical checks before heading home. Their journey began with Boeing’s troubled Starliner launch last June, forcing an unexpected and prolonged stay in space.
