With its counteroffensive against Russian forces now well underway, Ukraine claims to be making steady advances toward the eastern city of Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region. And while intermittent Russian strikes continue to claim civilian lives, many Ukrainians are going about their daily business even after 500 days of conflict.
