CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela has named army General Manuel Cristopher as the new chief of the Sebin intelligence agency, according to the Official Gazette circulating on Wednesday.

His designation followed the death of opposition politician Fernando Alban in Sebin custody, which the government said was a suicide but opposition leaders called a murder.
