(Reuters) - Sweden striker John Guidetti scored his first international goal in more than two years as they drew 1-1 with Slovakia in a friendly at the Friends Arena on Tuesday.

Hugely popular with Sweden's fans, Guidetti had managed only one goal, against Wales in June 2016, in his previous 24 appearances for his country.

Yet he popped up to rifle home a loose ball seven minutes into the second half, and his relief at ending his drought was palpable.

That strike, however, did little to relieve the pressure put on by Slovakia, who dominated possession and created plenty of chances, and their hard work was rewarded with an equaliser six minutes from fulltime.

Playmaker Albert Rusnak, who started on the right of a three-man midfield behind lone striker Adam Nemec, rifled a shot past Kristoffer Nordfeldt from outside the area to give his side a deserved draw against Janne Andersson's team.
