He’s the filmmaker behind classics like "120 days of Sodom", and now Pier Pasolini has a retrospective called " Pier Pasolini -The Great Heretic". It will screen 17 restored versions of his films in Athens, Greece. But how relevant is Pasolini today? Film scholar Maria Komninos says the director and his work is more important now than ever: "Pier Paolo Pasolini is one of the most influential intellectuals of the 20th century. His personality combined heretic Marxism with existential Christianity. His work is crucial and still relevant today because we experience the rise of the forces of neofascism more than ever before"

The film tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini will run at the Greek Film Archive until September 20th 2018.
