A speedboat pilot got creative in his benevolent bid to tackle a wildfire blaze.
Video shot in western Canada shows the boat revving its engine and shooting plumes of water in the fire’s direction.
The blaze broke out by the Thompson River near Kamloops, around 250 kilometres north-east of Vancouver.
Tasha Hunt and her fiancé Koyne Watson told Buzzfeed Canada they called the fire service as soon as they spotted the flames, but had tried to put it out themselves because it was growing quickly.
Lorrie Jane Arnott, who captured the video, said their attempts at putting out the fire drew applause from onlookers.
