Team Trek-Segafredo's Bauke Mollema wins stage 15 of the Tour de France.
His homeland is not known for its hills, but Dutch rider Bauke Mollema stormed stage 15 of the Tour de France, despite the addition of an unprecedented climb even the experts describe as a trap.
The Trek-Segafredo rider won his first ever Tour stage and was also named most aggressive competitor of the day across the 190 kilometres to Le Puy-en-Velay.
Team Sky’s Chris Froome retains the yellow jersey, despite a mechanical problem setting him some 35 seconds behind the peloton on the new col de Peyra Taillade ascent.
He later admitted the stage had taken its toll on his energy, but Monday is a rest day before the Tour heads east on Tuesday (July 18).
