Team Sky’s Chris Froome has regained the yellow jersey following Stage 14 of the Tour de France.

A strong leg for Michael Matthews turned into disappointment for Fabio Aru. The Astana rider lost his overall lead across the Blagnac to Rodez course.

Matthews finished on top after an uphill sprint with Greg Van Avermaet, giving Team Sunweb its second win in two days.

Froome’s teammate Mikel Landa’s boost into fifth place overall puts him back in contention for the yellow jersey and gives Sky control of the peloton over Sunday’s stage (July 16).

Romain Bardet is on home turf for the 15th leg, which features a new climb with gradients up to 14 percent.
