Five people have been hurt in a string of acid attacks across north-east London.

Police say one of the victims has suffered “life changing” injuries.

According to reports, the spree began in Hackney at 10.25pm when two men on a moped threw a corrosive substance at another man riding a moped before stealing his vehicle.

In less than 90 minutes, four other attacks took place in other parts of north-east London, including Islington and Shoreditch.

Police say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and robbery.

The attacks come after a woman and her cousin were attacked with acid on her 21st birthday in Beckton, east London in June.
