A male model has been found murdered in the streets of Baghdad.

Karar Nushi, who was known for his flamboyant style and flowing blonde locks, was found dead on Sunday.

His body had been mutilated. Shia militias in the city have often threatened violence against those who do not share their vision of Islam.

They have been blamed for a number of murders linked to the victims’ lifestyle.

Hundreds of wellwishers have left comments on Nushi’s Facebook page expressing anger and paying tribute.

Noshi had been performing in a comedy at the Najah Theatre in the Iraqi capital during recent weeks.
