The European Fencing Championships saw French and Italian competitors recrowned.

The second day of the 2017 European Fencing Championships in Tbilisi saw France’s Yannick Borel retain his title in the men’s épée final. He recaptured the crown he won in Poland last year, with a 15-10 win over his Italian opponent, Paolo Pizzo, in the Georgian capital.
Italy’s Arianna Errigo secured her second consecutive continental gold in the women’s foil event. The London 2012 silver medallist claimed a narrow 15-14 win over Russian Inna Deriglazova.
