Several members of staff are being held hostage at an employment office in a city in the north of the UK.

A man armed with a knife barricaded himself inside the job centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne just after 8am this morning.
Specially-trained negotiators are at the scene.
The incident has been described as “isolated” and is not thought to be linked to terrorism.
