What is it about politicians and beer?
Whenever a general election approaches you can be sure that a politician will be snapped witha brew in his hand.
Sometimes they want to convey that they despite being high fliers, they are one of the prople.
And they are showing that they are supporting the local or regional economy.
Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher had a penchant for whisky while Germany’s Angela Merkel has often been pictured sipping a large beer.
Former US President Barack Obama was often photographed with a beer as was Russian President Vladimir Putin.
