The Cannes film festival is building up to its big weekend finish when the prizes will be awarded, and the latest movie in competition,
Benny and Josh Safdie’s “Good Time”.

It is a fresh bid from Robert Pattinson to break free from his Twilight past and he gets to star alongside Jennifer Jason Leigh the lucky man.
They conjure up an atmospheric and moving thriller.

The other latest main event is the triumphant return to Cannes 15 years after winning the Palme d’Or of David Lynch, but once again this year it is a product for the small screen
on show. Lynch is not promoting a movie, but the third series of his legendary “Twin Peaks” saga.

There has been some huffing and puffing here about Netflix and others being invited to show product that will never make it into cinemas, but Lynch could film paint drying and
they would invite him here such is his clutural clout, and there were cries of “We love you David” as he arrived for the premiere.
