Prince Philip to retire from public life

Prince Philip is to retire from his royal duties later this year, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The 96-year-old Duke of Edinburgh will continue with scheduled events until the Autumn.

Royal staff were earlier called to London for an emergency meeting, sparking speculation about the announcement.
