A murder suspect who police say posted a video of himself on Facebook shooting an elderly man in the US has been found dead.

Pennsylvania State Police said Steve Stephens had taken his own live.

They tweeted: “After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself.”

Steve Stephens was spotted this morning by PSP members in Erie County. After a brief pursuit, Stephens shot and killed himself.

A nationwide manhunt was launched after Stephens went on the run.

Steve Stephens was accused of shooting Robert Godwin, 74, on a Cleveland pavement on Sunday before fleeing in a car and uploading a video of the murder online.

Stephens, who had no prior criminal record, was not suspected in any other killings, Cleveland officials had said.
