American Mikaela Shiffrin cemented her status as the slalom queen after winning the world title in the discipline for a third consecutive time.

The 2014 Olympic champion was in dominant mood on the slopes of St Moritz and won by a staggering 1.64-second.

It was Shiffrin’s second medal of these championships and fourth in total.

Switzerland’s Wendy Holdener thrilled the home crowd with silver to add to her Alpine Combined gold she won last week, while Sweden’s Frida Hansdotter took home the bronze.
